Education and qualification:
Dr. Fouad El Sayyad is a Consultant in Cornea and Refractive Surgery with extensive training in both Egypt and the United States. After earning his medical degree from Cairo University, he completed a three-year clinical research fellowship at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, focusing on cataract and cornea.
He further advanced his training with an ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, followed by a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. He was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2018.
Dr. Fouad’s specialties include premium cataract surgery, keratoconus treatment, corneal transplantation with advanced techniques such as DMEK, and a variety of refractive surgery procedures, including Femto-LASIK, PRK, Femto-SMILE, and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) implantation.
His clinical and research interests focus on ocular imaging, keratoconus, and infectious keratitis, and he has over 20 internationally published research articles in the fields of cornea and cataract.
Dr. Fouad is currently based in Cairo, where he runs a private practice, offering advanced ophthalmic care to his patients with a focus on improving their vision and quality of life.
