Symptoms & Reasons to Visit
How We Diagnose
We perform high-definition corneal topography to map the unique elevations of your cornea, together with precise diagnostic trials using medical lenses to establish a customized, comfortable fit.
Treatment Options
- Scleral Contact Lenses: Rigid medical lenses that vault completely over the sensitive cornea for keratoconus
- Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Lenses: Durable, crisp-focusing lenses for high astigmatism
- Orthokeratology (Ortho-K): Overnight lenses that reshape the cornea for clear daytime vision without glasses
- Hybrid Lenses: Combining a crisp rigid center with a soft, comfortable outer skirt
What to Expect During Your Visit
Your fitting process is methodical and patient-friendly. We will trial different specialized lens shapes on your eye to assess fit. We will spend dedicated time teaching you and your family easy techniques to insert, remove, and safely care for your specialty lenses.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes scleral lenses so comfortable?
Scleral lenses do not rest on the highly sensitive cornea; instead, they vault completely over it and rest gently on the sclera (white of the eye), which has far fewer nerve endings. The gap is filled with sterile saline, keeping your eye continuously bathed in moisture.
Can children wear specialty contact lenses?
Yes. Ortho-K lenses and specialized soft lenses are frequently fit on children to slow down the progression of nearsightedness (myopia control) and provide glasses-free freedom during sports.
