Symptoms & Reasons to Visit
How We Diagnose
We perform pediatric evaluations using child-friendly visual acuity tests, specialized light reflection checks for squint angles, and gentle cycloplegic drops for exact refractive analysis.
Treatment Options
- Customized pediatric prescription spectacles to correct refractive errors
- Patching therapy (occlusion) or medical drops to treat lazy eye (amblyopia)
- Micro-surgical muscle realignment to treat childhood and adult strabismus (Squint)
What to Expect During Your Visit
Our pediatric suite is designed to keep children completely relaxed and happy. We use toys, animations, and non-threatening techniques to perform accurate exams. Dilating drops are typically needed and cause temporary near-vision blur for a few hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
At what age should my child have their first eye exam?
Every child should receive a comprehensive eye exam by age 3, or sooner if you observe signs of a turning eye, squinting, or a family history of childhood eye disorders. Infant screens can even be done at 6 months.
Can squint (strabismus) be corrected without surgery?
In some cases, yes. Certain types of squints are caused by refractive errors and can be completely corrected with specialized glasses. Other cases may require patching or precise muscle surgery to align the eyes.
