Dr. Omar Magdy is a consultant glaucoma and cataract surgeon with an MD in Ophthalmology and FRCS (Glasgow). His work focuses on glaucoma diagnosis, long-term management, laser treatment and surgery. He sees patients at Sayyad Eye Center’s Mohandessin and New Cairo branches.
Dr. Omar Magdy has headed the Glaucoma Department at Embaba Ophthalmic Hospital since 2023. He also trains residents and fellows in cataract and glaucoma surgery.
His glaucoma expertise includes selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), laser peripheral iridotomy, trabeculectomy, deep sclerectomy, glaucoma drainage implants and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
He co-authored Initial Results of the Paul Ahmed Comparison (PAC) Study in Refractory Childhood Glaucoma. American Journal of Ophthalmology. 2025;271:71–78.
